Hello everyone!,
My boyfriend is a Type 1 Diabetic. I tell him over and over, junk food isn't healthy at all for him, neither is diet soda and all of that garbage. I am very concerned for his future. He has one of those moms who cooks ribs, chicken, macaroni, greasy green beans, yellow rice and all of that, and I really don't feel safe allowing him to eat so much of that crap.
And I recently gained 3lbs back and it took me 5 days to lose it. If you are a dedicated person to your weight goals and over eat when you are doing so good, you know 3lbs is like 10. When I eat decently, he comes over and eats chips, and I just recently started to say no.
Anyways, since I can barely find any good recipes for T1Ds, I was wondering if y'all could share your ideas?
Also, any tasty dinner/diabetic deserts are needed! This is needed for the BOTH of us, I need to meet him somewhere in the middle!
*Please don't be rude, I just need some help! *

I will try not to be rude.
Since your bf is type 1 diabetic I'm sure he already knows that junk food isn't healthy for him. Diet soda is debatable. I would assume he is concerned about his own future. There is nothing entirely bad with the food his mom is cooking. You don't feel safe "allowing" him to eat that much crap - is a bunch of crap. He doesn't need your permission to eat. You are both adults. He should be in control of his own health. Be there to support him, not be a food nazi.

Hello. Sounds like you are doing the right thing by finding alternatives for him. My sister is also diabetic and I know she eats a lot of seafood, grilled salmon, chicken, beef and then she pares it with some kind of vegetable that is non starchy. Yes she has an occasional treat, but she has learned "everything in moderation".. Something else google diabetic recipes and there are tons of it. Best to you and for giving him some guidance..
