I enjoy watching infomercials when I can't sleep. Isn't it great to watch and imagine that you can actually reshape your body in 3 minutes. I never buy the things, just watch the shows. Has anyone ever bought something really really good or really really bad from an infomercial?

  • Are you talking about the Kymaro body shaper or whatever it's called? I saw that infomercial and I was ALMOST tempted to buy it, but I don't want to show off false advertisement. Ha. What you see is what you get.

I've bought the Beachbody programs. I enjoy them very much! I like watching infomercials too. Oh... I've also got a nuwave oven. LOVE IT too.

I remember my husband going ga-ga over the "Perfect Pancake" - it was this little frying pan with a lid that was also a frying pan and they hinged together. You could take them apart to wash them, and both sides were non-stick coated. Great concept, right? Well, he didn't intend to use them for pancakes. He wanted to use them for eggs cause he can never flip eggs without breaking the yolks. Well, I wouldn't let him order it off the TV, but he found one at Walgreens and bought it. I recall vividly the first time he used it. Now, mind you, these two pieces did not make a seal as it needed to let steam out for the cooking process to work correctly....

Hubby heated the pan, cracked 2-3 eggs into it, and started letting them cook. When he thought it was time to flip them he closed the hinge part so the other portion of the pan was on top, and flipped the pan over. Suddenly, all the eggs slid out between the gap in the pans and all over the stove (including the heating element) and counter. He was swearing, and I was laughing hysterically. Egg got on the hot heating element of the stove (the round coil, electric type) and started to burn... hence the smoke detector went off! It was a sight to behold! Thankfully he cleaned up his own mess (which he does frequently) but said he would try again sometime.

Needless to say, this was about 9 years ago and last year I sold this pan at a garage sale as it hadn't been used since!

  • My mom buys off infomercials. She bought TurboJam (which I currently have), AbFlex, that electric belt that is supposed to strengthen your core and help you lose weight (can't remember what it was it was YEARS ago), that Red Exercise Ab Chair....I have no clue if she uses any of them. I love Turbo Jam though :)

There are a few things that I wanted. Can't think of any of them right now though LOL.

A few years ago my son bought the Magic Bullet. He didn't by it from the t.v. though. He bought it at the As Seen On
TV store after seeing the infomercial. We're still using that thing. Works great.

I had the perfect pancake! It was HORRRRRRRIBLE!
  • I've never bought anything myself off of one, but the funniest thing I've ever seen was the spray on hair. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a dude in my hallway at work who has bought it by the caseload. :P

:noway:    sorry, the only Magic Bullet I know couldn't be sold on TV and I doubt many men use it.... I've seen it at Pure Romance parties though...

The magic bullet they are talking about is a kitchen tool, not the personal 'tool' Easily confusing. BTW the one you are thinking of does work on men.... I use to do Passion Parties and learned a couple tricks :-)

 The ones that appeal to me right now are the 3 Minute Legs machine and the Ab Doer Twist machine. It's really such a great Idea, in just three minutes I can wear all of my small jeans. It'll work, Right? Like I said, I never buy them, but I always wish it could be true.
