I once made a recipe using diet coke as a tenderizer and then put bbq sauce on top followed by onion and granny smith apple slices. It was pretty good. It dried out though. Thin pork chops always do that for me, grr.
Edit: Just leave the excess juice at the bottom to serve. I found the recipe in the 5 ingredient slowcooker recipes book from Company's Coming but you should be able to google something similar.
Edit again: Company's Coming does have a website where they put their recipes. But it doesn't load well for me. You can give it a try, maybe you'll have better luck!
I think you'd need to cook it on low for about... 6 hours? Or maybe a bit less. Pork is safe even if it's done "medium".0 -
well my first and really only thought on this is...don't eat pork chops..I just tend to stay away from pork products all together0

Well obviously I don't lol or I wouldn't be posting for help with ideas. I already have these and don't have a grill and really would like to use crock pot. I don't eat them a lot, last time I had pork chops was over 4 months ago. Anyway, I have been googling and will again later but was wondering if anyone here has successfully cooked them in crock pot.0 -
I think my recipe would have worked better if I'd marinated the chops in the diet coke for a few hours before cooking them - since they would be more tender.
Edit: I wonder if there would be a red wine and tomato sauce you could make for them to cook in.0 -
Hi. Yes I do it all the time... I brown slightly, put in the crockpot with a can of cream of mushroom soup, or cream of celery, chopped up potatoes with the skins or the small red skinned ones a little onion and some times cut up carrots. Cook on high, mine is that way but check after about 2 hours. Sometimes three depending on the amount of potatoes. Something else, use a crockpot liner . It is wonderful. No mess to clean up. If you have t seen them they are by the foil and plastic wrap. This is a entire meal. Protein, carb and veggies. Hope you like this...0

Sounds good. Did you do on low or high?0 -

Bone in pork chops are meant to be grilled, not slow cooked.0

I encourage you to look for bone-on pork chops. They take a little longer to cook than boneless chops, but in my experience, they are another way of ensuring tender cooked pork chops. And by “a littler longer to cook,” I’m really only talking about a few minutes. It won’t make a huge difference to your meal prep!0 -

I agree. I've found a few recipes lately since I've been looking for bone in
I looked at mine tonight and they are really thin. So I think cooking time will need to be shortened. Should I use high or low heat?0 -

I guess depending if you are going to add the potatoes... Try the low and see how quickly it's cooking..0 -
In my experience, it's difficult for any meat cooked in a crockpot not to be delicious. I'll slow-cook steaks, chops, roasts, etc. My go-to is to caramelize some onions in a skillet first and add to the bottom...sometimes carrots and other veggies, occasionally a cup of wine...just don't over/under-cook.
As for the temperature, it completely depends on whether or not you have an old cooker with reasonable temp settings (where low is actually low) or one of the newer ones where low is too freakin' hot and high burns your food.0 -
I don't know how you feel about sauerkraut but I always use that when making pork chops in my crock pot. I used canned so the juice helps to keep the meat moist. If you don't like the sour taste, add a splash of apple juice. I leave mine set on low while I'm at work and its ready to eat when I get home. Good luck!0

But why? Pork is delicious. Other than a religious reason or you just don't like it, there's no reason to avoid it.
Also, bacon comes from pork. Bacon!
I'm also in to hear more crockpot recipes
...not all protein in created equal...chicken or turkey breast is going to be leaner and healthier not to mention more readily digested by the body then pork...and bacon...really...do we even need to go there0 -

So many questions...
What is bad about dietary fat? How is chicken or turkey "healthier" than pork? In what way are they "more readily digested"? How do you measure this? How is that necessarily a good thing? And what about bacon do you find so scary as to avoid discussing it?0 -
It's very hard to get much leaner than a pork loin... so much that they fare better when you marinate them or address this issue to avoid dryness.0

PORK ROCKS says the man with 2 smokers (wood/charcoal and electric) and a gas grill on his deck.
As far as crock pot recipe's go. Put the pork chop in with some potatoes, carrots, and whatever else you like. Make it like a roast. If it gets too much liquid, I like to add a little quinoa sometimes.0 -
