Advice from one new member to another....

What I am going to say has already been covered in a thread......(this is actually your first advice as well)

I belong to other forums for various things and here are some things that I find relate to all forum, especially this one:

~When you're new, introduce yourself. Use the search function if you have a question...9 times out of 10, you will find the answer already discussed. I've only been here a couple of months and I already roll my eyes when I see another thread about "I cant lose weight" or "any fad diet". I am not saying what you have to post isnt unique, but at least search first.

~Sarcasm, if you're on a forum and cant suck it up and ignore posts that are not helpful or ones that are just there to make you chuckle, them maybe a forum isnt for you. You cant control others, only yourself. Do not let yourself get offended easily.

~Read, read, read and post less. I am not saying to not join in conversations, I am saying test the waters, read a lot for the first few months and feel the vibe. When you do this you are less likely to think people are "mean" in the forums.

From what I have seen since I have been here, this is an awesome forum. I am on it reading probably more than I should be, but I am sucking it all up like a sponge. I have seen support on here like I could have never had imagined. Try to thank these great members who have been through it and offer advice for all of us to benefit from (even if it is advice you dont want to hear). Their time and dedication is appreciated.

I am by far no expert at any of this but feel free to add me as a friend, but fair warning, I am not good at motivating others but we can all share our journey.

Thanks for reading!
