Okay, I've heard several sources pronounce the term "hypertrophy" different ways? I've always said it "Hyper trophy" as two separate and distinct words. Lately, I've heard it pronounced "hy-PUR-trephy" (the 'e' is in there on purpose, you cant hear the 'trophy' part. Also, I've heard "HY-per-trophy" all as one word with the stress on the "HY". Anyone else have a clue how to pronounce it correctly??

Hyper. As in a six year old on Red Bull.
Trophy. As in what you win for participating in in a losing game of pee wee football.
At least that's how I say it.0 -

Doesn't matter. I work with doctors from all over and terminology is pronounced differently particularly between American English and British/Australian English but we all know what we mean.0

I'm a U.S. nurse and say hi-per-truh-fee.
But I'm sure we would all know what you were saying if you pronounced it differently.0 -
