Because it won't work. Over time your body will stop losing weight. BUT:
Do you really think you can eat 800 calories a day for the rest of your life? No freaking way. Its a lifestyle change, not just about losing weight.
P.S. Didn't mean for that to sound mean or anything. But from someone who was eating 500 calories a day for a year. It is unhealthy to eat less that 1200, and I would hate for someone to make the same mistakes as me. Because I gained most of it back.0 -
im only a wee person andd to be honest im full after what im eating and i enjoy the way im eating !
and mine is just about losing weight to be honest the only reason i have this weight is from having a child before that i was healthy and was very active so this is just a fix till i get back down to my old size0 -
It will come back to bite you, that's why, when you eat too little the body thinks it's starving and eventually you will stop losing weight and then what will you eat ---400 calories per day. And when you start eating 1200 a day you will gain. Do you see the problem here, even 1200 calories is tough sometimes if you don't make wise choices. You are doing what alot of people do, but you are messing with your metabolism and I know from experience the party will stop. It is hard to little to other people because you think it is working for YOU, but it won't work forever and for as hard as it is to believe you will age.0

I agree with everyone else that you are not near eating enough. And also in looking at your food diary, you are BARELY eating any protein...that is not good. And unless you are not tracking all your food, most days you are WELL under 800 calories. Not healthy.0
-
It's not about it "working", though there are some instances where people find themselves stuck at a weight and they are pushing themselves to be too far under their calories and eating more helps.
Generally a lifestyle with that few calories is just as unhealthy for your body as the kind of over eating that brought on over weight conditions in the first place.
I don't care how small you are 800 cals is too low, let alone adding in working out. I really hope you aren't breast feeding or anything.0 -
I think you do what works for you.0

My quote on a recent postI'm not a huge believer in the whole starvation mode thing honestly.
People who are anorexic never complain about starvation mode really.
You cut calories you lose weight, its as simple as that.
A gradual calorie deficit is better in my opinion so you wont feel too horrible.
And if you hit a point where your not losing you might have to step up the cardio a notch.
You didnt gain the weight overnight and you wont lose the weight overnight.
Have patience and perseverance dedication and hope.
Goodluck on your journey.
800 calories might be a little bit of calories but as a small woman it might be good for you if your living a sedentary lifestyle.
A lot of things you have to take in consideration people.
Age, sex, height daily lifestyle etc etc
What's bad for some might be good for others.0 -
Eating less then 1200 calories a day can have severe consequences on your health and body besides starvation mode...it can effect your heart, liver, and kiddneys!!! This is very dangerous to your health even for a short period of time. No matter how small you are it is unhealthy for anyone to only eat 800 calories...please rethink your stance on this...I have seen people get very sick from what your doing and I'd hate to see it happen again.0

800 calories is NEVER good! She's 19 years old...can you imagine what her BMR is???? Even sedentary (and she states she works out TWO hours 3-4 times a week), her body needs at least 1200 calories just to function properly.0 -
OKay looking at your profile you are only 19, and I was 125lbs at 19 too. I started filling out about 23-25 years old to the weight I am now at 31. The older you get the harder it is to keep it off, so just a warning for you when you get older, the way you are losing it now is not going to work when you get older. I can't even imagion only eating 800 calories and the exercising too. Heck if I don't eat my 1200 that I am eating now, I almost pass out at the gym...0
-
you are not getting sufficient nutrients on 800 cals a day.. it is working now, but you are pulling from your reserves to maintain your health right now.. If you keep this up, you will have kidney and heart issues as well as bone loss. Your immune system is weakened, and you will have less reserves to fight infection. It's not just the calories that count, it is the nutrition. You are not getting enough nutrition to maintain a healthy human body.0

It may be " working " its not safe or sensible, please get help !

You say that losing weight is what's important to you? But you also said that you gained the weight because of a pregnancy.
I think being healthy and having the energy to be a part of your childs life should be what's important to you! Just my opinion.0 -
800 is NOT enough, your going to hurt your body that way. And whoever said it above, once you reach your goal and up your cals you are going to gain and gain so fast that your not going to realize it until it's to late.
take it from somebody with experience with this.:blushing:0 -
Sorry if I sound blunt. But does it really matter, what people here tell you, espescially if they say you are wrong? You will do what you have done before and eat 800 cals a day or even less, when the mood strikes you. At the moment it works for you, that's all that counts in your opinion. You already said it's just a fix to get rid of the baby weight.
You think it works? Well, then keep going. But don't complain, when you stop eating that less and all the pounds return and bring some friends along too.
This is a diet to you, nothing more, nothing less. You only care for the number on the scale. Your health, now and in the future, the nutrition, the healthy lifestyle and all this stuff doesn't matter to you.
You just wanna get skinny, not helathy. I wish you luck. Lord knows you will need it.0 -

Her body wont just simply stop and it will keep functioning as long as she has a fat reserve to tap in too.
I dont know how tall she is or even seeing exactly what she eats.
She maybe 4'7 for all I know I'm just giving my opinion like everyone else.
Also dont know how she's working out and using those 2 hours at the gym.
I'm 6'2 male and take in 1600 calories and can function just fine.
I'm stating everyone is different and what works for you might not work for other.0 -
