So lost, How many strength exercises to do?

Okay, So I am a woman 5'5,160 pounds

I am trying to build muscle and be toned. I've been doing about 10 strength machines at the gym doing 3 sets, 15 reps
but it seems like thats way too many and I find myself at the gym for two hours because I also use cardio machines for 45 mins
Also, I go 5/6 times a week

Can any one help me figure how many exercise machines I should focus on each session?

I like to stick with 8 exercises, 3-4 sets each, bars, dumbbells, and cables only. I don't do cardio machines, instead I do a minute of cardio after each exercise. This takes from one hour to an hour twenty mins max.

Ditch the machines and start lifting with free weights.

There's also no need to work out 6x a week. You're going to burn yourself out and before you know it you're going to quit. Your body also needs rest to recover grow.

    I'd recommend a full body routine 3x a week.

You can google a full body routine yourself or wait for someone else to come along shortly and give you suggestions.

you can get more bang for your buck by doing free weights and compound exercises that work multiple body parts at the same time rather than using machines

i'm doing something like strong lifts so i do 3-4 exercises per strength training session (3 days a week): deadlifts, barbell row, bench press, overhead press and cleans in one session and squats, pullups, chest press and dumbbell presses in another session

BUT if you only have access to machines then go for the cable machine since you can do multiple things on there. some ideas on cable machine are wood chops, romanian deadlifts, seated rows, lat pulldown, etc
