Adventures in finding my old self!

HI there. I am Kathy, a married mom of two looking to step up my game on getting to a healthy size for my short but solid frame. I figure at 5'4" and with size 9 ish feet I am probably going to shoot for the top end of the weight range recommended for my height. Right now it looks like I have 56 pounds to lose. Be my friend if you would like
I have lost roughly 40 pounds since December and until recently I HAD been exercising and making mostly decent food choices, I just sort of fell out of the habit when my husband had surgery recently and I allowed myself to continue down the path of junk food. There is really no good excuse for me not prioritizing my health.
I don't follow a "diet" plan per se, I just eat food and try to eat mostly proteins (chicken, eggs or fish mostly) fruit and veggies, whole grains and occasional dairy. I walk, bike and hike and have recently joined a gym so soon I will be meeting with a trainer to learn about the weight equipment at that gym and how to use it with proper form. That's pretty much my plan. It may not be the best plan but it's better than no plan.
Good luck to you for whatever reasons you are here.

sounds like a great plan! A plan that has little small choices that can be done daily is what gives us the greater gains. Anything hard and extreme doesn't last. Make real life changes and adjustment and you'll see the benefits long term0

Thanks, Christi.
I know if I try to bite off the whole thing all at once I will fail, I lost the first 40ish with small adjustments. I am not trying to hurry to the finish line because if I do that I won't learn anything and I will put all the weight right back on where it came off-and probably more. With gradual tweaks to my daily routine I'll be able to swap out bad habits with good ones.0
