I had stomach pains starting last Monday 8th Nov and then it went away on Thursday last week (thought it was from too much soup) over the weekend I ate quite a bit and now since monday i am soooo bloated, have a lot of gas (sorry for graphics) and am quite contipated. i look like 6 months pregnant i am having some prunes and laxatee tonight with a senokot so hopefully it should help. just dont understand what's causing it?? have never had food intolerences in the past, why now in the last two weeks? Also weighed myself on Friday 12th Dec and I went up 2kg's in 1 WEEK!!! and no I am not pregnant coz u dont get a belly in 1 week and have just come off my monthlies.....
Iv looked at my food diary and besides weekends it's fairly healthy. maybe it is my weekends causing it.... if anyone has time you can view my diary and maybe shed some light. I need help!!x:yawn:

I sort of have the same problem, since I started eating healthier I'm not as "regular", but I believe I'm getting what I "need" to do so......so curious to see some advice here.0

Try to eat more fiber.
I try to eat at least 20g per day and it helps me to stay regular.0 -
I'm hoping it will go away, but I've also had some feelings of bloating of late. Sometimes, the pain in my abdomen is so severe, I can't stand up straight, but it only lasts a day or two. It could just be trapped gas and or water retention. I haven't glanced at your diary, but watch the sodium intake and if you have access to a sauna at a gym or fitness club, try sitting in there for a bit to rid of some water retention. [I'm not a huge fan of saunas, but they can help.]0

Try eating more fiber (blueberries work well for me) and drinking more water. Also, get some exercise - sometimes that will stimulat your digestive system to get moving again.0

Take Fiber Pills twice a day. Drink tons of water. Don't consume too much sodium. You will get better. Veggies,Fruits to move stuff out.0

Having too much fiber and not enough water can cause this so drink up.0

I know fiber is a good thing, but my first thought was that you ate more fiber than you are used to. When I eat more, from the fiber filled stuff not necessarily from fruits/veggies, I get gassy and my stomach actually hurts. However, that is only really that night. It goes away the next day.
What kind of soup were you eating a lot of? Maybe it had something in it that doesn't agree with you. Maybe a lot of sodium - which would account for the bloating.0 -
I don't work out or restrict my calories on weekends and that seems to be when I lose the most. I weigh myself about twice a week and I'll lose 1 pound between Thursday and Monday and from Monday to Thursday/Friday I'll lose half a pound or less. As long as you stick to your calorie and exercise goals during the week being relaxed on the weekends shouldn't cause you to gain weight.
I looked briefly at your food diary and you look like you're doing just fine, even on weekends, so I don't have any idea what could be causing your bloating. It could be related to your menstrual cycle. Hormones get stored in body fat, so as that fat is burned those hormones get released. For some people it can cause temporary changes in the menstrual cycle and other bodily functions. Make sure you get lots of fiber, preferably from fresh fruits and vegetables, make sure you don't gulp air when eating and drinking, limit your sodium intake and make sure you get lots of water. And of course, if your symptoms persist you should probably talk to a doctor.0 -
I drink TONS of water a day - as far as servings of water I probably drink 12-15 servings of water a day, AT LEAST! But I make take the fiber pills, or something of that nature!
Thanks all!0 -
I have IBS which causes all of the above. My dr. had me start taking Miralax (which is a fiber powder) 2x a day a couple years ago. It really, really helps! There are now several other types of this powder...Ducolax, even Walgreens, Wal-Mart and Kroger have store brands. It's tasteless and dissolves well. You might try it. I'm down to only 1x a day now. However, if the symptoms persist, it might be wise to be checked for IBS. Certain foods, plus stress, can cause major flare ups and pain. Good luck!0

Hi. Sorry to hear you're uncomfortable. I'm not a professional but as others mentioned, make sure you're getting enough fiber on a daily basis. Simple changes like a portion of high fiber cereal each night or if that's not suitable, a chewable supplement. I recommend Benefiber since it has a refreshing orange taste. Terrible bloating (distended stomach) has several causes including overeating, constipation or irritable bowel syndrome. You should contact your primary care physician if the condition does not improve.0

I notice you are using Agave nectar as a sweetener, I personally suffer from extreme bloating when I consume anything sweetened with agave, so now I always read the ingredient list and avoid any products that contain it. I don't know how often you've been using this, but you could try avoiding it for a few days and see if that helps.
Aside from that, some food combinations lead to gas/bloating...I've noticed when I combine fruit with certain other foods it seems to have that effect, so now I try to have fruits by themselves as a snack. I had heard this before but always thought the people saying it were quacks. Turns out through trial and error I've found it to be true...for me anyway.
I also get a lot of bloating and stomach pains from those fiber supplements that dissolve in water. I think the best way to get fiber is through the foods you eat, and whenever eating something high fiber always have it WITH water...don't have the water before or after, but WITH the food...0 -
thanks you for all your replies everyone, have had some prunes, natural yoghurt and some light leek and potato soup for dinner so hopefully i should get some movement.
Eve-havent been eating the agave nectar long actually started having 2 teaspoons in my herbal tea today, I think maybe it';s milk with coffee I dont know.
