Plot driven books

When I go on my long walks I like to listen to audio books. I just zone out and listen while I walk. For this purpose, I enjoy books that have a strong plot, not too wordy, fast paced without being confusing, easy to follow, keep you engaged and leave you hungry for more. Just remember the goosebumps and detective books from when we were kids and you will understand the feel I'm looking for.

I'm not looking for amazing literary works and not particularly picky about the writing style. It doesn't have to be good as long as the plot is. Maybe some sci fi or fantasy (but the kind that has a link to the real world, not the kind that is all aliens or elves. I don't feel too connected to a foreign world unless it at least starts in the real world where I can relate), probably suspense or mystery like dan brown's books. Dystopia and speculative fiction fits well, too.

I enjoyed the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, the time machine, do androids dream of electric sheep, wanted 7 fearless engineers, journey to the center of the earth, the metamorphosis, dan brown's books, 1Q84, harry potter, the hunger games and a few more. I do like other kinds of books but they would not fit well into an easy listening walk.

I do not like romance, drama, gangster books or social or political fiction. Any suggestion for interesting books to buy (and hope they come in audio format)?
