Can't stop yo-yoing

Constant loop of dieting all week, losing almost a pound a day and then putting it all back on as soon as I binge. I'm so angry at myself for doing it but I just can't stop it? How to keep in control?

Losing 1 lb per day, you are way over-restricting, which physically WILL lead to a binge. Your body is desperate! Try to move to a 250-500 cal deficit max per day.

There is an amazing podcast series out by Leigh Peele called the Binge Series. It goes into the science behind it and is FANTASTIC!

    1. Realize that it's going to take time to lose the weight. Losing a pound a day means extreme restriction.
    2. Set your goal to lose one pound or half a pound a week. You are going to aim to eat as much as you can during the week to avoid the binges.
    3. Some exercise is good, but going crazy doing an hour of cardio every day is not helpful.
    4. Resistance training is going to help spare your muscle, meaning you have to lose less weight in the long run.
    5. Whole foods keep you full (fruit, vegetables, lean meat) and leave room for a treat every day.
