So much less sweat! Loving it

I've been going pretty hard losing weight for the last few months. It's been going very well losing around 2lbs a week fairly consistently as i'm quite diligent about filling in my food journal and making it as accurate as possible. I do fear a bit for my life every time I ask my wife for the ingredients in whatever she has made, or if the recipe she got online included nutritional info, i'm sure a few of your spouses can relate
When I started out near 260lbs I sweat all the time. If I ran down to the basement and back up, that's pretty much all it would take. Try to do any work on my car, really 2-3 minutes of any physical activity at all and I was sweating. I always hated that, but that was pretty much how it had always been so I just lived with it (I have previously been up near 300lbs around 10 years ago so it's always been this way).
I would say probably around the 220lbs mark I noticed a marked reduction in sweating during routine activities, which was a very nice surprise. Around this time I also decided to take up running. I've always hated running, but I think the truth is that i've always hated that I "couldn't" run because of my weight. Turns out I quite enjoy it and have been running 5k 4 or 5 mornings a week, usually before work.
Once I started running my weight lost slowed a bit, thinking I may have added some leg muscle because damn did they hurt after every run for the first couple weeks! I 'm currently sitting at 211.
Now that i've been running for around a month there has been another huge reduction in sweating, I actually have to perform some kind of strenuous activity now, or work in extreme heat to begin sweating! Virtually no routine activity results in sweating any more and it feels great!
As a most recent success, I just got back from a 7 day camping trip which in my previous life would be a 7 day binge fest of junk food. This time I ran 5k on 5 out of 7 of those days, skipped almost all the junk food, thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and came back with NO weight gained. Huge win for me.
I still have quite a bit farther to go, hoping to lose another 40'ish lbs to get to where I should really be for my height, but it's already a drastic improvement. Looking forward to seeing where i'm at in 6 months.

can't wait to get there on my journey! i started using a treadmill last week and boy even just walking fast makes me sweat really bad.0

Thanks, and you'll be surprised how quickly the treadmill will start to make a difference. It might not feel like it but if you pay close enough attention you'll notice.0

Great success story! You've done very well and it's always heartening to read these success stories. I can relate to your story, too. Thanks for posting. Success stories like yours keep me going, especially when the going gets discouraging.0

You're doing so great! The things we notice losing weight! Less sweat is a pretty cool benefit I noticed after losing the first 20 or so that I'm not as hot all the time. I used to always be hot. I'm still warm natured, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore.0

Oh, I can relate to your wife too! I have to say that could be annoying. LOL. My problem is trying not to say anything to my husband when he's stuffing his face with Doritos. I remind myself how much I would've hated that. He doesn't need to lose weight. He just eats junk food whenever he wants. It's annoying.0

I've also noticed that i'm able to handle warmer temperatures inside and outside much easier now as well! It's great.
Haha my wife is the same with snacking, always eating something. Usually popcorn instead of doritos :P0 -
If you want another little surprise check your resting heart rate and then check it again in 6 months. Before I started running about 3 years ago, my resting heart rate was pretty normal: 70-72. These days, it's in the mid 50's, and I've seen as low as 52 on occasion.0

This encourages me... I'm leaving for camp later this morning and I must say that I'm a little nervous about gaining while I'm gone and out of my routine. Praying I can have as much self-control that you had with the junk food. =o)0 -

Ya you're right! I had never checked my rate at rest before I started, but I just checked it 3 times while sitting at my desk at work and it's sitting at 51-520 -
i used to DREAD summer due to sweating. and sweating just by taking a few steps. i totally notice (and appreciate the change). it is the little things that make the greatest difference! congrats!0

seeing your story reminds me of myself a lot. I started out at around 260ish myself couple weeks ago and i deff can sympathize with you about the amount of sweat i had going on and still do. I am currently at 240 and still got lot to loose until i reach my desired weight but seeing your progress is giving me hope. Keep up the good work.0
