Race one week away - put my back out. Help!

Help! I've put my back out (leaning over at an awkward angle to clean out the cat litter, if you must know). It's my last chance for a long run before a five-mile race next weekend. On the principle it's good to keep moving, should I go for an hour's slow shuffle-run or just stretch and walk down the town and hope I can hack it on race day?

SInce its the week before the race, and if you have been training, you will maintain your fitness level even with a bit of a taper week going into the weekend. Don't push it, cut your mileage in half and then kinda play around with the rest days so that you can rest your back earlier in the week and maybe do a couple shake out runs later in the week. I always rest two days before a race, shake out run the day before then the race.0

Thanks! I ended up doing a super-slow 5k concentrating on form and it does seem to have eased my back. Lots of stretching, ibuprofen and a good taper will see me right :drinker:0
