Newbie - Starting over

Hi everyone I'm Nese, 26 years old, I'm a Pre-Med college student and bartender from Chicago, IL. I'm here basically to find some guidance on losing weight. My weight has yo-yo all my life. In 2012 I lost 80 pounds in 7 months. I went from 272 to 192. I reached a point where I looked really good for my height, but I wanted to lose more and got very discourage because I could not break out of the 190s to save my life lol So less then a year later (Jan 2013) about 10 months, due to stress, emotional eating and my exercise going from 6 days to 0. I reached my heaviest weight at 315. It is now July 2014 and I'm 279. I don't know how the heck I lost 36 pounds, but I am definitely trying to lose more.

So, I already know how to lose the weight, that's the easy part for me. I've done it before. It's really keeping it off that's the problem for me. But if you are reading this and want to know how I lost 80lbs the first time, I'll share my tips that helped me along the way

But if anyone has tips on how to surpass that point where your body has gotten use to you losing weight and it stops...please HELP lol I really don't want to get stuck at 190 again lol It would also be great if someone can give me some tips on maintaining your weight once you've reached your goal & how to deal with being under stress, without stress eating.

Don't be afraid to add me. We can all keep in touch & be each others motivation in our healthy lifestyle change!!!!

Hi! nice to meet you :) I This is a great site filled with a lot of good info :) Make sure you start weighing and logging your food. That is the most important things first :) . I am sure you will do great :) As far as getting stuck as long as you are eating at a deficit your body will not get stuck forever, it may take some time to catch up and start losing again but remember as long as you keep tracking and eating at a deficit your body will eventually pick up again. You just have to keep moving forward. Best of luck on your journey :)

Awwww thank you gmw391. Thanks for being so welcoming and yes i can definitely use the support. I'm losing this weight on my own this time which is really hard, because the first time, I had a group of friends and we were really helping each other through the process. But people have kids, get married and now I'm on my own this time....I can definitely use the extra help and a extra push lol

I believe u Cerakoala, you are a proven fact that it works, I just have to stick with it this time. My biggest problem now, I believe I have to learn to put the pasta, sugar and chips down every time I'm under stress. Because that's my go to foods at first sight of a problem. How long were your exercise sessions when you started?

You can have those things you say but we just have to learn moderation. :) That is what it was about for me learning what that meant. :) I was quite a bit heavier than you when I started and I could barely walk. I started with walking 5 minutes a day built it up over the first year to an hour a day and worked on increasing my pace. Year 2 I joined a gym and started using the elliptical and other things. Year 3 I joined some cycling classes etc and just recently at the end of year 3 I play on a softball league and I started crossfit :)

it is so easy to get off track for me. Falling back into old habits is a human trait I think. But the good thing is we can always start and every day is a new day.

For myself, as long as I am in this world, I know I will need a program like this to track my food. Technology has finally caught up to my needs for help with my eating.
