How long did it take you to get where you are now?

I keep seeing all these amazing success stories, whether they're really big losses or slightly smaller ones and it's all so impressive! (congratulations to you all :flowerforyou: )
It's been making me think though... I aimed to lose 15lbs when I started this in early September and I know I don't have much to lose so it's bound to be a bit slow but compared to what I'm seeing around on MFP an 8.5lb loss so far seems like snail pace!
Anyway, I was wondering if people with slightly less to lose could say how long it took them to get to goal? (including BF goal - that's the one I know's going to be a killer! Started off as "skinny fat" you could say - 30.8%BF, I'm now at 27.4% and want to get down to about 20% and re-evaluate)

It took me 4 solid months to go from 120 to 105 pounds...I have been maintaining for over 5 years, gained and lost 3-4 pounds during the scope but now I am reducing body fat slowly. I am currently at 107 pounds and 19% bf (estimated), I plan on reducing another 1-2% and staying at this weight or as close as possible.

I had originally planned on losing 10 pounds, but then decided I needed to lose more. It took me from the end of april until the end of august to lose 18 pounds. Now I am just trying to maintain, my doctor told me not to lose anymore weight. My BMI is 20.
  • Started January 8th as an office contest, weighed in at 249lbs

Contest ended June 24th, weighed in at 222lbs

Currently at 209lbs and a new goal of 180 by July 2011.

I am more than half way there from my original weight!!!

I joined in the Beginning of Sept - aiming to lost 30 pounds...I have lost 10 so far.. i work out like crazy - 6 days a week at least hour and half each day...but still working on the eating right...so it is slow, but the plus side is, I haven't seen the scale go up, only down and my body is changing quite a bit....and remember, the less you have to loss...the harder it is...
  • It's true, the less you have to lose the harder it is. I just joined MFP. I have 10 lbs to lose. I am 5'0 but muscular. I want to get down to 115. KDiamond- you seem tiny and look great. If I get down to 115, I may go to 110. But if I can't, that's fine. I know it'll take me longer to lose 10lbs than someone who has more to lose.

Started in August 2009 and met my goal in about Feb. 2010. I vary 5-6 pounds but lost 15-18 more than my PA recommended so I'd have some to "play" with, not sure what date I hit my lowest weight. Lost 50-54 pounds.
  • Started September 28, 2010.

It's been 7 weeks and somewhere in there were 2 weeks where I decided to drop my intake to 500-600 calories a day to see if I could lose weight faster. So that experiment crapped out because I did not shed a single pound for 2 weeks (me--> dork). So I'll say 5 weeks on the proper program.

I'm currently within Normal BMI range but I'd like to push to the low end of the Normal BMI, say 92-96 lbs, by Feb. 2011.

    Current weight loss: 15 lbs.
    Average weekly weight loss: 15 lbs/5 weeks = 3 lbs/week

It's taken me five and a half months to reach the point I am now at (39 lbs loss). Hoping I'll be at my goal weight in the next week or two.

It's taken me just over 2 years. I would have lost all of my weight by now, but had hit quite a few mental obstacles.
  • It took me from Feb to Aug to lose 30 pounds and since then I haven't lost any....up a few, down a few...so I joined MFP to see if I can get those last 10-15 by next summer. I hate plataeus...lol.

Maintained for over five years?? Now THAT, in my opinion, is a definite success story if ever I heard one!!

So many people (myself definitely included in the past on this) lose the weight, put it on, lose the weight, put it back on AND some more, lose the weight, put more on...... Neverending circle.

WTG on that maintenance, you have it sussed without a doubt, seriously excellent going!!! xxx
