Small Business Tracking?

Hi guys. :)

So I am trying to track accurately and I have a question about items from small local eateries - how are we supposed to enter those correctly?

For instance, today I am going to a local water park, and I plan to have a jumbo hot dog with fries. The thing is, this water park has no nutritional information, as they are a small business and don't need to.

Same with the Italian place next door - no nutritional information whatsoever, so I never know what to enter when I order their pizza.

Any suggestions on how to track these items correctly?

Lots of restaurants are in the MFP database. Or check the restaurant's website for nutritional information & add your food. (In the app, go to settings > my foods & exercise > my foods.) Or choose the closest match. The database is chockfull of incorrect listings. Choosing a low-calorie listing will never get you closer to goal.

Choose entries from other restaurants, they will likely be similar. Just be sure to choose verified entries with realistic calorie counts.

That or if it's something like a sandwich you can guesstimate on entering each ingredient. For example, my favorite sandwich from a local bagel place is a turkey sandwich on a jalapeño cheese bagel with their garlic Romano cream cheese topped with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, shredded carrot, onion and sprouts (nom nom). To log it I enter an Einstien Bros cheese bagel, Boar's Head turkey (which is the brand I know they use) and a garlic Parmesan cream cheese from Philadelphia (I think) plus the veggie toppings.

Thanks everyone, I'll definitely try to find something similar. :) It's just difficult with an item like pizza, because there are so many different kinds with different nutritional info. These small restaurants aren't going to be in the database, unfortunately.

    Thanks again!
