NSV in a box...

I was cleaning and organizing my garage the other day and found some nice sport pants in a box that I hadn't worn since a trip to Mickeyland around 12 years ago.

I held them up and looked at them and my mind said, "those look way too small."

Guess what? I put them on and they fit!!! :-)

I realized how psychologically my mind was still in a defeatist mode, even though I've lost 91 lbs.

Reshaping one's self-image is a difficult thing to do when you've gotten as obese as I had. I'm getting there though.

Cheers!

The other thing that happens to me is if I go into a restaurant, my mind is telling me to head for a table, and even when I look at the booths, it appears that the distance between the edge of the table on the booth and the backrest of the seat is really close.

That is from years of not being able to squeeze into a booth without discomfort and the fear of people looking at me when I did struggle to "squeeze" in and out.

The reality is that now with as much weight as I've lost, there's room to spare for me in a restaurant booth.
