Looking for the inspiration to continue....

Hello all I just started with mfp yesterday and I am hoping this will give me the boost to continue my weight loss journey.
I have lost about 28-30 pounds and have 50 to go. I exercise with walk away the pounds and walking outside when
weather permits (snow in the winter and now 100 degrees here whew!). I just hope being part of a community will help
me with the motivation and inspiration I need to continue.

I find that as I encourage others that is motivating myself to stay on track. It is a win-win!
  • Hello,
for some reason I just found this on my computer. Ironically, I bought a rowing machine about 5 days ago, and I have been rowing 30 min/ day Today, I rowed 60 min. Generally on weekends I will ride my bike 15 miles on Sat and 15 on Sunday, but it was raining off/on today, so I thought I would row longer. I need to lose 50 lbs asap LOL but my goal is to lose it by my 60th birthday which is 12-13-14 yeah last number sequence in this century.
I just started the food diary, and wow, my eyes are opened! I just pop grapes and pistachios in my mouth whenever I go into the kitchen. eeeck.. that has got to stop!
My motivation is when I was on vacation, I looked into a full length mirror and I was horrified .. what happened to my pre menopausal body, and who's body is this??? Yep, it's mine and my only excuse is I quit exercising. I live in the North and winters I just want to hibernate and stay warm, which means snuggle under a blanket and not move. But, I have a whole closet full of great clothes that I can't fit into any more -- well it's been about 5 yrs and enough is enough! I am going to get into them once again and stay there. That is my motivation .. I don't like what I see in the mirror..

  • I think MT is so beautiful esp around Flathead Lake - Missoula - Whitefish -- basically the western part of MT! You can do this!
  • Hmmm I want to lose 50# as well .. so baby steps .. don't think about the end .. just put one foot in front of the other, this way it won't be so overwhelming ..

Welcome it sounds like you're well on your way. I like to walk too along with hiking. I live in the Rockies of Colorado, so summers cool here, but the winter is to cold. So I rejoined my Jazzercise class and that gives me a good workout when the weather is disagreeable.

A lot of people are wearing Fitbits to track their daily steps and they sync with MFP. I am wearing a Jawbone UP, that I can also add in ither workouts, but it doesn't have a reader on it, so I have to plug it in my Android to see how many steps I have taken. The UP made for I phones doesn't a appear to be very accurate. If you're doing a lot of walking I would recommend a pedometer or FitBit that you can wear all of the time to see how many steps you're doing. They are great devices.

Anyway take care, you can add me as a friend if you like.
