rehydrated dona maria mole calories??

I made dona maria green mole and I was excited to see that a serving size of two tablespoons was only 140 calories! Then I became curious if it was the same after making the canned paste into a real sauce. Google says no it is now 1,235 calories for a cup! I only mixed the two tablespoons of mole paste with chicken broth, 30 calories a can. Is my serving of mole 170 calories or over 1,000??

170 sounds more on target. Mole is good for you, hun.

If the package says 140 for two tablespoons as you added chicken broth then that's it. Calories won't come out of nowhere

Have you tried using the recipe maker and inputting all the ingredients to figure it out?

2 tbsps of the canned paste is 140 calories, or 70 calories per tbsp, unmixed.
    There are 16 tbsps in a cup. 16 x 70 is over 1100 calories.
1 cup of unmixed paste is over 1000 calories.

You used 2 tbsp so it is 140 plus whatever calories you added it. I believe you said 30. So there is 170 calories in the mole you prepared despite the final volume.

At least I think that is what is going on.
