32 year old looking to firm up

This is my second round on MFP. I began last year, mainly with walking about 3-4 miles per day and an exercise video per day. I was feeling pretty good about sticking with it - but then life got busy, pets got sick, work slammed me and I simply dropped the ball. My body issues come down mainly to sedentary jobs, being overall thin/lazy, and finally realizing that I've lost the muscle definition from my 20's and that it's time to make a change.

Having been lurking on MFP for awhile now, I've spent a lot of time oogling the success stories. While I've always resisted weights, I finally realized that the people with results that I wanted were the ones who used weights, so I finally took the plunge and bought myself a beginner's weight set for home (MWB 500 adjustable bench, two barbells and weights). I'm too self-conscious for a gym, and I love the idea of being able to work out in my bedroom while watching shows.

Would love to add friends with similar starting points/goals. I'm currently 5' 5", 109 pounds with thighs/butt as my problem areas. They aren't horrible, but I've completely lost my definition and am too ashamed to wear pants out in public now, so it's definitely time to make a change and be accountable for my body. Ideally I'd love to learn a good starting routine for all over toning, with major emphasis on butt/thighs. & ideally I'd prefer to gain weight along the way, though weight loss/gain wont really bother me much as long as I can achieve some definition again.

Anyone out there with similar goals or some ideas of what exercises to begin with on my used bench/barbell setup?
