Women weights based workout; where to start? Routines?

I'm interested in starting a routine that mostly involves weights, I don't like myself 'skinny' and want to add to my shape (the bigger the butt the better!).

I definitely need a set routine but the Strong Curves book seems too expensive to me despite good reviews; I want to keep it as an 'at home' routine. I have dumbells / a bar with about 100kg of weights at home.

Any recomendations? I'm fine with paying a little bit for an eBook but free would be nice.

I do need pictures, as an example this kind of set-out appeals to me most --> http://www.womenshealthmag.com/files/pdfs/21-day-bikini-body.pdf

Thank you for any assistance!

I'm new to lifting and I have been doing the 5x5 programme which is great. Search on google and it's prob first site that pops up all free. There's even a group on here. Very good for building strength. You can also go on bodybuilding.com. It's a very good website which is free. There are lots of different programmes on there too. As 5x5 is about building strength so if you want to build muscle there are probably lots of different programmes in there for that.

Hope this helps as I'm only new to it myself.

Why do women think they need a "women's program" for lifting? Get that out of your head right now. I started with 5x5, which is not a women's or a men's program. It's a lifting program, period. And it's great for beginners.

Stronglifts 5x5 is a great starter exercise routine. The guy who 'wrote' it does tend to focus it toward a male audience and the starting weights might be a bit much but you can make changes to the programme to fit you. I use the app which helps a lot.

    ^^^ all of this

women won't get the same muscle size increase as men because we lack the testosterone for it, but everything else about weight training is just the same. We have the same musculo-skeletal system that works in the same way. Even the strength difference between the average man and average woman doesn't change how you work out, because everyone has to use weights that are heavy enough for their current level of strength, and this goes up and up, and is different from individual to individual.

I'm doing stronglifts 5x5, although Rippetoe's Starting Strength is good... it's very similar to stronglifts, but you get so much more information with it. (stronglifts is free, but Rippetoe's books are not expensive)

Check out stumptuous.com. This lady will teach you everything you need to know, starting with the fact that you don't need a "girly" workout.
