My teeth are so discoloured and I was wondering if any one from here might have some tips for me to get the white again or at least a decent colour, I don't smoke and drink plenty of water and this was caused by antibiotics that I was on when I was born. Thanks and sorry its not about my weight or diet. :)

it sounds like you were on tetracycline... that is one that I know stains..... Unfortunately I don't know if it can be gotten rid of.... My only suggestion would be to talk to a laser whitening place and see if that would work... good luck

I'm not sure what country you are in but if in the UK speak to your Dr, as it was a drug that caused it before consent could be obtained (too young or in utero) you could be eligible for NHS help to correct it. You could also contact your local dental teaching hospital. Treatments in teaching hospitals are carried out by students but with 100% supervision and is usually very much cheaper and even free.

I don't know if it would work, but I did Crest White Strips and they did an amazing job on my teeth. I used to have a weird brown stain in the middle of my front two teeth (I know...sounds horrible), and the Crest White Strips got rid of it. I did Crest White Strips probably about 6-7 years ago and my teeth are still as white as they were then and I get compliments all the time on my nice white teeth. I'm not sure if it would work in your case, but it is fairly cheap and worth trying right? Good luck!

I was going to get the Crest White Strips for my teeth as well. I went to my dentist about 3 weeks ago and she said that those work great as an inexpensive alternative to what dentists do.

  • I had the same problem... a few years ago I bought a set of crest white strips.... and combined them with the knowledge that dentists put a peroxide solution on teeth & expose them to uv light.... I wore them while smiling in a tanning bed... lol... no more than 15 minutes... I just go for the vit d boost... makes me feel good.

The set did make my teeth sensitive. But it went away a few days after finishing. And it did make a huge difference. since then i maintain with occasional use of strips... 2-3 days here & there, esp. when i go to a tanning bed & use crest 3d white toothpaste.... every where i go someone compliments my smile... even my dentist. A few years ago I'd have to say my teeth looked gross... lol

now the strips have advanced in technology so there's other options besides the 2 weeks i started with.
    GOOD LUCK
