Stick with it peeps this reallly does work!

I am a daily weigher and anytime I see a loss I update on my profile on here. Over the first 2 weeks I lost 8lbs (I have 140 to loose in total) I started out thinking the weight would drop off quickly - other diets I have done I would loose 10lbs in the first week sometimes but I have slowly realised that this time I want the weight to stay off so I set my goal of 2lbs a week. Anyway this week I weighed on Sunday (Monday is my usual weekly weigh in) as my friend weighs then to so we spur each other and I had lost nothing - I was so disheartened - it feels like the scales are putting 2 fingers up at you and calling you a liar when that happens lol! Anyway usually in the past I would of said sod it and eaten crap but yesterday I kept the faith - calories in versus calories out I know i'm sticking to it and not cheating and weighing everything, only thing I've not been as good at has been drinking my water so yesterday I made sure I drank at least 2 litres......today I get on the scale and 2lbs gone I am so pleased! Only 4 more until my first stone and then I am 10% of the way there. I am not sure if I will cope very well with plateaus that last longer than a week but hopefully I will look back at this and remember to just ride it out the scales will eventually get moving again.

Plateaus will happen .... particularly as you get closer to your goal.

I've been eating at a defecit and running ALOT ...... scales don't budge for 2 weeks and then BAM ... 2lbs will go!.

Don't lose the faith; weightloss is NOT linear (even if you do the same good work each day). There will be times the scales add a pound or two as well (especially as you weigh everyday). Again ... don't worry about this as fluctuation is absolutely normal.

Remember it's a long term thing. The weight didn't go on overnight... nor will it go off overnight....

    Good luck

(edit to add : don't rely on only the scale. Take body measurements too because even when the scale doesn't move, you will notice the inches reducing!!)

Good attitude to have. The thing you have to remember is that this is a slow and long process. If you continue to do all the things you are doing then you'll get there eventually. Consistency is the key. Keep up the good work!
