Eating pre-weight lift

Lately I have had quite a few lifting sessions leaving me almost queasy. Should I be eating pre-lift? If so, what? Thanks!

ETA: My lifts are early AM. Like o-dark-thirty early.

If you can't eat a balanced meal an hour before, try a few ounces or juice or other form of quick acting sugar.
Or increase carbs the night before.

Would some toast and juice before hand do the trick?

Eating a simple carb beforehand would give you a quick boost of energy; if you're looking for something more sustained try a boiled egg and half an avocado (roughly 200 calories). I'm a firm believer in being able to program your body to burn certain nutrients for fuel depending on your diet, and avocado itself stimulates the body to burn fat it's already stored for fuel.

Simply put-if there are no carbs to burn for fuel your body will go to another source for fuel-either fat or protein.

Do research, but i think BCAA supplements are meant to give you energy during your workouts.

I like to eat a banana and take a pre-workout supplement before I lift. If I was going to the gym early early am, i'd have to eat something. I like the egg and avocado advice...that sounds good. I also have tried protein shake and a little oatmeal with success.

That could work, but try the juice alone first if you lift within 1/2 hour of waking. Larger meals take longer to digest, especially if they contain fat & protein (like avocado & egg).
