How many cups of green tea should i drink to lose some weight? Do you have any other suggestions on how to lose weight in a month?

    eat less calories than you burn. green tea is one of my favourite non-alcoholic beverages but its no weight loss miracle

    I used to drink green tea constantly but it didn't make me lose weight. It's not a quick fix. I didn't start losing till I started making sure I was eating less calories than I burn, and I had to include the calories for the green tea, too.

    I want to say I've heard 2 cups per day minimum, but obviously, as much as you can stand, that stuff is awesome for you :)

    There was a small study that indicated green tea might boost your metabolism, but the boost was pretty minimal and you had to drink quite a bit (5 cups/day?). I've found that tea has helped me with weight loss in general, mainly because it fills me up more than water (i.e., I eat less). If there was any metabolism increase, it hasn't been significant enough for me to notice (I drink 4-5 cups of green tea daily).

    You can drink as much of it as you want, but it will have no measurable effect on your weight loss. There are no quick fixes.

    You lose weight by eating fewer calories than you burn. Period.

    According to your ticker, you want to lose 12.5 lbs. At your size, a healthy loss is .5 lb. (.25kg) per week.

    1. Green tea may help you lose weight if you have a cup of tea instead of something with calories you would otherwise eat. Drinking green tea and changing nothing else will not give you any noticeable weight loss.
    2. Weight loss is for life. With the amount of weight you want to lose, a healthy loss is .5 lbs per week, or 2 lbs lost per month (.9 kg/month).

    Just drink it instead of drinking calorie laden beverages. It can kill the cravings for something sweet to drink. When you're at starbucks get a green tea.

    Here's the thing, and you probably don't want to hear it:

    If you're looking for meager ways to burn very negligible caloric sums, it's indicative of not changing your lifestyle enough. Anyone who has adjusted their exercise and nutrition adequately probably wouldn't be looking for refuge in green tea. You'll want green tea for all the other benefits though - therein lies its value.

    Well, hydration is good for keeping you generally healthy. So, there's that.

    Other than that, green tea isn't going to magically make you lose weight. It's pretty much zero calorie if you drink it black, so it's about as good as water with flavour.

    I personally love tea, but it doesn't make me lose weight. I eat at a deficit and I drink tea too. Also, it hasn't made a difference if I've drank chai or one of the sweet teas you can get at Teavana or DavidsTea.

    Careful about calories in milk, cream, honey, or other additives. They add up.

    I would say about 15-

    because tea makes me have to pee- seriously.

    So 15 would get me started- and I would LITERALLY have to pee every 30 minutes- resulting in more walking than my normal day. There for inducing more of a calorie deficit.

    20 cups a day. You won't loose weight that much directly from the green tea, but you will by the energy you burn by walking to the bathroom all the time.

    Lose weight in a month? Eat less energy than you expend.

    How many cups of green tea? Depends. How much do you like to drink? It's not going to cause weightloss on its own though.

    You can drink exactly zero cups of green tea a day to help with weight loss, like I did.

    Drinking green tea because you like it or for the health benefits is another story. Drink as much as your calorie intake will allow if you want :drinker:

    Green tea will not cut weight. It will be refreshing and a great way to get liquids but you need to eat less and exercise more. No quick fix

    Zero. I have lost 53lbs and not had a single ounce of green tea. So the answer is zero.

    I lose weight from drinking both hot coffee and hot tea. But it's only because it's a zero calorie hand-to-mouth occupation that keeps me from wanting to snack when I don't need more calories.

  • I just started drinking green tea again and made my portions smaller. I have lost 15lbs and I do not work out. I walk my daughter on the weekends and I mow my yard in the Texas heat once a week. I rarely have time to go to the gym. I drink 2-3 cups a day and I walk as much as I can in one day. Biggest thing is portion sizes and what you put on your plate. I will say my green tea is aiding my weight loss but not by much. I think it helps lose a pound every two weeks.
