Exercise/training helps with fitness, but being in a calorie deficit is how you lose weight. If you are happy with your plan, that's what matters most. It means you're more likely to stick with it.

Make sure you are eating at a calorie deficit by logging accurately, weighing your food with a scale & measuring with measuring cups and spoons.

    Good luck!

Exercise routines can vary tremendously depending on your personal fitness level. If it challenges you but doesn't wipe you out. Your in the right ball park. The key is to challenge yourself as much as possible without forcing yourself back onto the couch.

That seems like a pretty standard upper/lower split with some cardio thrown in. People might have more comments about what you're doing on those days (lifts, reps per set, weights, intensity, etc), but that's a more of a discussion for goals other than weight loss.

You *can* lose weight doing that routine, provided you don't eat more than you're burning. The cardio will increase your overall activity and work your cardiac muscle, which is a healthy thing to do, while the strength training will help with overall strength and maintaining muscle mass.

Based on what you've provided, there's no immediate red flags that jump out at me.

As previous post said, calorie deficit is the only way you can lose weight.
My previous PT said to me how to make a good goal to shape your body & stay healthy+fit.
    1. Lose weight until reaching ideal BMI
    2. Shape it, tone your body into your liking.
    3. Keep exercising to maintain the shape & fitness

The best way to burn calories is Cardio exercise like running/jogging or Boxing with partner.

Always set a realistic goal to boost your confidence.
If you need to loose many pounds, chunk it into small & more manageable one.

    For example:
If you need to lose 60lbs, chunk it into several small goal for 1 year.
    It'll be 5lbs/month for 1 year.
It'll be easier to achieve & every time you achieve your monthly goal it'll boost your confidence even more.

To calculate ideal BMI use this formula : BMI = (Weigh in Kg) / (Height in Meter)²
Or use this tool : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmi-calculator

To know how much calories you need each day use this tool :
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator

You can eat more than your BMR value (how much calories you need each day) but you'll need to exercise more to burn it to match your BMR value.
