Stuck After 3 Weeks 36M 220lb 5'11"

Looking for some help. Started at 220 and am now 211.

I have spend three weeks controlling calorific intake. I am very careful and never exceed the allocated 1860 calories recommended for 1lb and a bit weight loss a week. I have registered as 'sedentary'.

In addition to the calorie control, I have been using the treadmill everyday and have been burning a minimum of 500 calories each day. Whilst MFP combined with my FitBit is saying that I have earned extra calories, I have still religiously stuck to consuming no more that 1860.

Of course, weight came off very quickly in week 1. Week 2 I was pretty happy with but I seem to be stuck now for over a week just where I am.

I have lost 9lbs and am happy with that - I know it is above the 1lb a week that MFP is suggesting - but I am just perplexed as to why I have been stuck for seven days with just the 1lb.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I weight my food carefully, exercise every day and always record everything without fail.

Thanks!

The thing is that although it is about the scale, it is not about the scale. The scale (and our bodies) are not linear. Some weeks are the same. Some weeks are half a pound up; then two weeks in a row are two pounds down. All of that is to say be patient. Keep weighing, but focus on the monthly loss. Look at the month to month loss.

    Similar stats to you .... 42M .... 5'11' ... currently at 213lbs

I'm down from nearly 300lbs and the beginning was quick. I now see periods of 2-3 weeks with no shift on the scale ..... and then suddenly, BAM ... another 1-2lbs will go. Bizarrely, it'll often happen after a weekend when I chuck in a few beers.

I run 4-5 times per week and burn 600-800 calories each time and eat to around 1800 calories per day.

Weightloss is not linear. Whilst the scales won't always move, your measurements probably ARE still reducing.

Generally, it isn't considered as a plateau until you have seen no changes for a month to 6 weeks.

Don't forget also ... as your weight comes down, your calorific requirements will also reduce. It may be that you need to cut down to 1,750 now. MFP will usually want to recalculated goals and needs after a 10lb loss....
