Discouraged....

I know its unrealistic to expect huge results in such a small amount of time (only 9 days) - but I'm confused as to why I'm gaining weight as in 2-3 lbs when I've been eating between 1400-1800 calories a day and walking 4 miles every other day??? I use a fit bit and religiously log my calories on myfitnesspal so I'm getting a little discouraged
3 years ago, I lost 50 lbs just by counting calories and doing zumba 2x a week. I tore an ab muscle (not even sure how that happened) and because zumba and even walking was painful - I stopped and ended up using it as an excuse to just stop counting calories as well - gained it all back within a year.
I've tried the Advocare 24 day challenge - lost weight, gained it back.
Counting calories is the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me and now I'm wiggin' out because even that seems to be failing me now.

It is most likely just water weight.
The other thing I would advise is pick a caloric intake and stick with it for at least 2 - 4 weeks.
1400 - 1800 calories is a pretty significant calorie swing. IMO0 -
im assuming that those 4 miles walks are a new addition to your routine....
when you add exercise to your regime that your muscles arent accustomed to it is not uncommon to see a weight gain on the scale due to water retention in your muscles. this will subside after a couple of weeks, dont sweat it, as long as you are in a calorie deficit you will be losing fat0 -

It works, but you need to:
-- Give it time
-- Make sure you are in a caloric deficit0 -
If everything is as you say it is (and that calorie amount puts you in a deficit) you're not gaining weight. You could be retaining water because of TOM, carbs or even because you're doing new/more exercise. It is very common and normal. Try not to let it discourage you.0

Don't give up! You know you can lose weight because you've done it in the past. Sometimes the body is a mysterious thing. Weight loss is probably one of the things in this world that you have to have the most patience for. Keep going and in time you will see the numbers drop on the scale. One day at a time. Even if the numbers on the scale aren't what you want to see, you are doing what's right for your body.0
