I am so discouraged! My calorie goal is 1000, I exercise and burn about 500, which leaves me with a net of about 500. I'm not losing any weight!! I just wanted to drop a quick 10 and the scale isn't budging!! Help!

define what quick means to you?
No weight loss would say normal - you are not eating enought.
Age, height, weight and activity level?0 -
how long have you been trying?0

you are trying to lose too fast for your goal

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal0 -
How did you determine a calorie goal of 1000? The minimum recommended for women is 1200. You are not eating enough. Your body is trying to protect itself from starvation.0

If your calorie goal is 1000 (too low!) and you exercise burning 500, you should increase your calories due to the exercise. The more you exercise, the more calories added by Fitness Pal to your daily total. You earn more calories when you exercise as opposed to being sedentary. Check it out - something is very off.0

Slow it down, eat some food and be patient. The weight loss will come.
How long have you been stuck for though? If you are netting 500 cals and not losing weight there could be a problem and might be worth seeing a doctor. You would lose a lot of water, muscle and fat in eating 500 cals a day, but you would see a movement on the scales (I'm not saying 500 cals is good, you can lose weight eating loads more, but to not lose weight at 500 cals seems weird).0 -

If you are not losing you are not in a deficit.
I would bet your calorie intake is more than you think and your burns are over-estimated.
If you want to lose and keep it off, then you need to learn portion control and lifestyle sustainable changes. Eating 1000 calories a day is not sustainable.
Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.

It's about moderation not deprivation. There are no good/bad foods, only bad eating habits. Do or do not, there is no try. You have to want it, you have to work for it, you have to realize that only you can do it.

I'm no expert, but I believe you should never NET less that 1200 or 1000 or whatever. You're not feeding yourself enough. You need food to live. Eat more and exercise more.
Again, I'm no expert, but that's what I've been doing and I've lost 55 pounds in 5 months.0 -
Are you weighing your food on a food scale?
And how are you coming up with your calorie burn?0 -

No, not this. Starvation mode is a myth.
To OP, you're either miscounting your calories eaten, overestimating calories burned, or have no thyroid. Or all three.0
