    There is a 5:2 group on here if you want to have a mooch around. The introduction pages are good for seeing peoples initial thoughts of trying out fasting;

    I've seen a few people try it out for a week before committing to taking it on. I'm actually enjoying it now, its nice to see that I can control food now and not let it control me. (and the fast days are no where near as hard as they were)

    I've done that when I was stressed and having trouble controlling the amount of food I was consuming. That's not a normal problem for me, but stress does that to you.

    I feel like fasting gives you a feeling of power that you're not a slave to your body telling you to eat everything in sight. I can actually eat nothing (for a short period of time) and be totally OK. I find that empowering. And good for my general maintenance diet because I know that I don't have to eat the poor food choices in front of me because my body will sustain me until I can find food that I want to eat.

    I'd definitely talk to your doctor before beginning, though, to make sure it's safe for you to be fasting. I've never encountered any issues with fasting, but if you have any pre-diabetes or other condition that might make it less safe for you to fast.

    Valid- and thank you for thinking of others health and well being! I am on good terms with my PCP and go for Full workup Phy. every year. I am in good health- no issues or even on the edge of issues!

    I may give it a go!

    Hard to pick the two days of suffering!
