I had mine out a few yrs back and had the opposite effect; I lost weight easier because I couldn't handle greasy, salty, fatty foods for awhile afterwards. I ate very, very heatlhy: chicken, rice, veggies, etc. Unfortunately, I was able to eat the not-so-good foods after a few months:huh:

I found after my galbladder was removed that I could not eat high fat foods because they made me sick. I now avoid thingsslike steak, creams, and rich desserts because they make me feel bad. I do not know that having my galbladder removed affected my ability lose weight. I do know that pineapple is suppose to be great if you are trying to lose weight and it helps with digestion. Also, be sure to get plenty of fiber and water. If you are struggling to lose weight you may consider having your thyroid checked. Good Luck.

My Gall Bladder came out last December..I had the same thing happen to me. It actually helped me start dieting..I can tolerate greasy/fatty/salty now..but I prefer not to :-)

I initially lost weight post surgery (1994), but as my normal eatting habits came back, so did the weight. I have not had any issues with losing weight because of my gallblader being gone, but only because I was eatting too much of the wrong things, and not enough of the right things. I do know that it took a good month after my last surgery (2009) for my body to get back to feeling normal and acting normal. It takes some time for all the chemicals and drugs to get out of your tissues.

Stay focused on your healthy plan and it will come off. Take a close look (or have someone else) at your diary and see if there is something that might need tweeked for better results. I have had no issues with any foods related to not having my gallblader.
