I'm 20,5'4 and 128lbs and my maintenance is 1300-1400. So yeah +1800 sounds really high to me. Plus I don't think 1400 calories is low anyway. I checked your diary and seems like you've been eating +2000 calories a day. That's a lot. maybe if you actually eat 1400 calories, you'd start losing weight.0

For your weight 1400 calories is def a bit low.
If you weigh 165 lbs, you should still be losing if you ate 1650-1845 calories per day.
Ideally the long term goal is to be near the top of your max calorie range and still lose fat.
Try this for 2 weeks:
Set your cals somewhere between 1650 & 1845 on myfitness pal. (Dont eat more if you exercise))
Track every single morsel of food and drink in myfitnesspal.
Continue your exercise schedule as is. If you have not already, I would increase the weights you use in body pump up a notch.
Drink at least 3Litres of water every day.
Increase protein intake to 150 grams per day
DO this LIKE A BOSS!!! LOL
At the end of 2 weeks as long as you are completely compliant with your food intake, evaluate ( I bet you will lose)
-if after 2 weeks you lose more than 5 lbs, you can up your calories by 100 or 200
If you lost 2-4 lbs you are doing great keep it up dont change a thing.
If you gain I would think either you were not compliant or you have something medically going on that might need to be checked out.
Let me know how it goes!0 -

Can you tell me where you got your +2000 from? Because the actual maintenance BMR is "usually" not that high, unless you're really active throughout the day and workout. But if you were to sit all day and still eat 2000 calories, you'd definitely start gaining weight.0 -
She probably lifts weights and trains miss know it all. AND FYI if a person doesn't want to starve themselves they can get to upwards of 15-17x body weight as their maintenance calories.0

I have the problem with eating few too calories some days. I just don't feel hungry and will literally eat 500-1000 calories. My tracker says if I want to lose 1.5 calories per week I should eat 1450, but sometimes I still aim or eat lower than that, but I try hard to make sure I'm not under 1200 calories. If you eat too far under your calorie goal you could go into starvation mode, not to mention, if you're eating under 1200 calories, yeah you'll lose weight, but you could eat a 5 calorie jello cup and you'll gain back all that weight you just loss. (exaggeration, obviously.)0
