Is it a good idea to walk with sore muscles?

I know this is really sad, but yesterday i walked for almost an hour and now today i have really sore calve muscles. I wanna burn some calories today tho. would it probs be okay to walk on sore muscles? or will that damage the muscles? any ideas of exercises that dont involve being on your feet but still burn calories? like around 200? thx!

Yes. It's a good idea. Might even relieve some of the soreness.

Your calves are some of the most resilient muscles in your whole body as they have to carry your body weight all day every day. To anyone trying to develop LARGER calf muscles they require significant weight resistance training simply BECAUSE they work so hard in regular life. You won't do any harm walking with sore calves, and as another poster said, they'll loosen up shortly into your walk.

yep For me if my muscles are sore I walk at a comfortable pace - after 5 minutes they feel a lot better usually :-)

ps to burn calories you need to do quite a bit of work - carrying my *kitten* around for me is the best way to do this. You could go on a hand winder at the gym but this is going to be hard work and you are not going to get anywhere near the burn you will get by moving :-) If you don't like walking try swimming or riding a bike. As this is moving your whole body they will burn a lot of calories :-)

Walking might be the best thing to relieve some of that soreness. Go for it!

If, you are new to walking/exercise, it would be advisable to have a rest day. You'll improve with time, but your muscles need some time to repair themselves. Keep well hydrated, and eat at least 10g of protein after a workout.
