Your A-Ha Moment

When did you realize it was time to make a change?
'
Mine was a few weeks ago. I was in a store and noticed some cute down vests for the fall and I saw "my size" XXL on the end. So I tried it on and realized I couldn't zip it around my big tummy. Then I realized it was a MEN'S XXL, just put back in the wrong place!

After with struggling with my weight for years and finally ballooning to my heaviest (267 pounds on a 5' frame) I decided right then I was going to do something about my weight.

Congrats to you for deciding to make the change :) Mine was at age 27 when I found out I had diabetes and sleep apnea. I knew I needed to do something. :)

My A-Ha Moment was when the camera on my computer came on accidently and I saw myself from an angle that really showed the double (if not triple) chin.

I have known for awhile that thinks were getting out of control because my summer clothes weren't fitting and nothing looked right when I was trying to get ready to go out somewhere. The loose pants and shirts I was normally wearing around the house were comfortable, so I didn't think about it until I had to go somewhere and everything looked terrible, to the point where I didn't want to leave the house. That's when I decided to do something and signed back onto MFP.

My son was trying to encourage me and made a comment to me that I took to heart. When I was saying how hard it is to exercise due to my breathing problems, he reminded me that losing the weight would help and that I should make it a "mission" to learn all I can about what I have to do and then start doing it, one step at a time.

He was right and that's one of the reasons that this time around I have sent out friend requests, because I need all the encouragement I can get.

Also the fact that I didn't want to go to XXXXL. It's hard enough to find nice things in XXXL.
