Anyone here bank their calories?

I'm talking about unused calories at the end of the day. I had 200 left over today, so I made an exercise entry for tomorrow in order to add them to my allowance. So, instead of 1,650 calories, I now have 1,850...which is great because I'm going out to lunch with some friends.
When you have left over calories, do you roll them over to the next day?

Absolutely not.. Go out and eat with your friends, you're going to have some overdo it days, just make certain that the majority of days are good.0

I'm not understanding why this is a bad thing?0

Yes, I bank my calories and go by a weekly average, but I don't do it by making an exercise entry because that would mess up the net calorie bar graph in the MFP app.0

This. I go by the week, not the day specifically and it works out. The exercise entry part is a little weird. Just be under some days and over others and make sure it balances out. You can check in the reports section the net calories and see if the trend is even for the week.0 -
I calorie cycle, which is pretty much the same thing. 1100-1300 Mon-Thurs then 2000-2500 Fri-Sun. Averages me 1600 to 1700 a day over the week, I'm losing 1-2lbs a week and it means I don't feel like I'm missing oput on weekends and can have nachos, kebabs and beer.0

I'm considering doing something like this this week because I'm having a lunch date with my mama at the Cheesecake Factory on Friday and I really want a slice of their Snickers Bar Chunks and Cheesecake. Mm.0

I wasn't trying to be weird, lol...I just wasn't sure how else to add it in for the next day.0 -
OP - good post! :drinker:
I bank my calories for a rainy day. I don't worry about being "Green" for every day as long as I average "Green" for the month.
Right now I have taken out a "calorie loan" because of a business trip.. so I have to gradually "pay it back" to get my balance sheet right.
I feel like I have much more freedom now!
Also I eat between my TDEE and my BMR. And I eat 50%-75% of my exercise calories.. :drinker:0 -
Yes but not to the extreme.
For example on Saturday I'm eating out with a friend. I've already decided what I'm going to have and checked the nutrition on the pubs website. This is 700 calories over my daily allowance. So I have left 100 Calories off Wednesday to Fridays food to act as a buffer. Ok this doesn't completely balance out. But bearing in mind I'm eating at a 500cal deficit, this just takes me to a 100 calorie deficit on that day. Still good.
Like others have said I don't add it as an exercise entry because then I'd be counting it twice when I look at my weekly average calories. (I go by this far more than the daily log page).0 -
No.. I find it's too risky if I have overestimated on food or over estimated on exercise. In order for banking to work you have to be 100% accurate, and unfortunately, it's impossible for you to be entirely accurate.. I would rather have those extra calories as a buffer and maybe an added boost to my weight loss
That being said, I was 2k under last week and decided to reward myself by walking 6 miles to get a cupcake0
