help with app

First this might not be the right forum but can not seem to post in the technical forum.

I just recently downloaded the app on android and found at first that it is very easy to use.
I have found that apps like this only work and continue to be used if it isn't a pain in the *kitten* to use.
But that was the first couple of days.
Now I am having trouble figuring out something that would really make the app easier and a joy to use.

i will use pasta as an example.
I have a brand and enjoy using it in many recipes.
So i wouldn't necessarily be able to determine all the recipes i will use it in.
I am looking for a way to barcode scan the pasta and have it in "my foods" for easy use in other recipes and when I am simply having a small bowl of it.
I tried "my recipes" but that requires 2 or more ingredients.

How can I add my favorite foods so that they are readily available in the future without having to type them back in, re-scan them etc ?

Thank You for your time

in the app there is an area for "Your Foods" or commonly used items are under "frequent"...if you eat it a lot it will be found under "recent" and if you want it under your foods you have to add it to the database....you can do that on the app or on the website.

I found it easier to do it on the website and I always put my initials at the end so I know it's mine.

Yes I use the frequent foods a lot. Makes logging so much easier. I know it is a bit of a pain to have to add a new food, but on those that are not entered I do guess and try and find the closest match under the search feature and use that. Keep up and do not get discouraged, this is really worth it.

I appreciate the input but it doesn't really make it "easier" to use the app.

What I was thinking along the lines of say walking into my house after grocery shopping.

Pulling out my phone and scanning all my groceries (in say "MY FOODS").

That way it's done once and not every time I make a meal.
