Back At It!

Like the title says, I'm back at the old diet and exercise game and I'm ready to stick to it again. I was on here every day last winter, but then got sick and my life just got really hectic. I'm not going to make excuses for myself anymore and I'm in need of some motivation on my newsfeed!
I'm a twenty-two year old female and have eighty pounds to lose, so if you're up to something similar, go ahead and add me I make it a habit to go through and like statuses and offer comments, opinions and support on the regular!
I also recently joined runtastic, so if you want to give me your username, we could be friends on there too

Very nice, good luck!
If you're interested, here's my best advice (from experience): try to find the most enjoyable way to lose this weight and don't do what many people do by just trying to do this by sheer willpower and not listening how you feel about it. In practice, this means (to me): eat healthy food that you like, make changes in you lifestyle slowly so you have time to adjust, do exercises that you like, reward yourself frequently, focus your attention to the positives, take action if you feel negative about this, and so forth.
This approach and mindset has helped me a lot to make big changes maintain them.
Hope that's helpful!0 -

You're welcome!
The mindset that I described is the same thing as Plato described in his Chariot Allegory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chariot_Allegory).
Basically a person consists of three parts;
1) a charioteer, which is reason & intellect, which can steer the two winged horses.
2) a noble white horse, which is your passion to do well and to achieve success.
3) a black horse, which are your irrational appetites, desires.
It's your challenge as a charioteer to steer both horses in such a way that you get to divine heights, but so many times the black horse means trouble - you try to steer both horses on a steep course up, wanting quick success, but then the black horse resists with full force, dragging you down. A wise charioteer seeks to know both horses so he can steer them. It's important to understand what your basic needs are (what you need to feel well, like rest, food, recreation, etc) and not to ignore them.
And the interesting thing is that if you do this that you will have the strength of two horses pulling your chariot as your command, pulling you in the right direction.
It just takes a lot of time reflection and experimenting to get to this point - but it's worth the investment! Many people live their lives focused on pushing themselves, ignoring their feelings. This not only makes them unhappy, but also greatly reduces their chances of success.

When you are ready to put in the work and be consistent, you will reach your goals.
The most important piece? You. Second in importance: Your calorie deficit/macros/micros Third in importance: training (something you like to do and will do)
Read this link. Develop some good habits (trumps motivation) and a sustainable plan.
