Getting out of the tomorrow loop.

So I am on day 7 of level one of the 30 Day Shred, but I have still gained 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks from eating like crap. I keep telling myself that I will get back to healthy eating tomorrow, then something happens to throw me off (my son not sleeping, interviewing new daycare people, work, blah blah blah)

Anyone have tips for getting out of the cycle?

You have to make tomorrow today. You just have to make up your mind that today, I'm going to eat right.

Tomorrow will never come if you don't make it. I wasted a good two years saying I'll start tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

Start with the next meal. Already ate breakfast and lunch, start up again on dinner. Tomorrow never comes. Today is the only day we can do anything about.

i was one of those guys for sure.
tomorrow never works. start now. it wasnt until i finally did that that i started actually losing weight instead of wanting to

you're going to have all of those interruptions your whole life, if you put it off today because of them then you'll do it tomorrow too. dont let them get in the way of your goals.

Honestly, you probably didn't really gain 2#. It's just water. Your body can fluctuate +/- 5# a day.

    Also,

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.

Plan your meals ahead of time. Do the shopping and prep work as if it was a project with a time limit for each day/week.

You said tomorrow yesterday. There's never time to work out, you have to make time. It sucks, but I've never regretted going to the gym... but I almost always regret when I don't.

EDIT: Fixed typo for grammar nazis

Don't mean to be harsh, but you have to want to stop making excuses and negating the wonderful hard work you are putting in to exercising. Just keep telling yourself that if you eat like crap you're gonna feel like crap. Decide to change or not!

Tomorrow never comes can cliché but its true. Start this very moment. The longer you wait the longer it will take...

What helped me to start tomorrow is a good sleep, water and protein. Try to sleep well tonight , let ur hobby take care of the kid for a day. Not sleeping well makes me grumpy and hungry Start "tomorrow" breakfast with lots of protein. It should pull the trigger

I was the same. I promised my Mom on her dying bed that I would get healthy. (She died of complications that started with being obese) It took me a whole year after to actually do it. I kept saying tomorrow. What worked for me was just getting angry at being fat and the anger gave me motivation. Then I found MFP. I'm not perfect every day by any means, but on my way to a healty weight!

I was the king of the "start tomorrow" mentality. "Tomorrow" seldom came and even when it did the "day after tomorrow" often left me right back in the same boat as the "day before".

My "start tomorrow" mentality eventually led me regaining the 70lbs or so I'd lost in my late teens and then an additional 70, until I eventually ended up at a high of 320lb. Seeing that unfathomable number on the scale was finally the thing that set me back on track and in the right direction.

I hope it doesn't take such a drastic fall for you to get it together.

You aren't alone. I used to do this to and did it for years because I had a long way to go and it seemed overwhelming. Challenge yourself with mini-goals. Try to stay on track for one day, then one week, then for 5 pounds, etc.
