Need Healthy Dessert Options

As part of my lifestyle change, I'm cutting out junk food and sugary things. So tell me, what are your favorite healthy dessert recipes or foods?

    I've been on a huge dark chocolate + fruit kick lately. I've been doing 2 squares TJ's 85% dark chocolate (40 cals, a little goes a LONG way), 1 banana (About 100 cals) and 1 tbs peanut butter. Melt the chocolate with the PB, slice in bananas, mix together, and it's heaven. You can adjust the amounts of what you have depending on how many calories you have/what you need (sometimes when I've done a lot of running I add 2tbs of PB for extra protein).

    Last night I splurged (money wise) and got a carton of 2.50 raspberries from the farmers market and mixed with 2 squares of the same dark chocolate.

    So good.

    I still eat all the junk food and sugary things, but fruit would be a good runner up if you don't mind that sugar... Because, well, fruit...

    I highly recommend these chocolate muffins!! So long as you don't overdo it with the chocolate chips, they're only 50 calories each.

    My near-daily thing I do is mixing some low-fat cottage cheese with a teaspoon of whatever sort of jelly I feel like. It's excellent for quenching my awful sweet tooth. I've also gotten really into making richly flavored teas. You can find all kinds of dessert flavored ones, and if you sweeten it with some sort of sugar alternative, it's tastes like calorie-free liquid cake.

  • I have tried this yet but I've been thinking about using lightened up versions of frozen yogurt, whipped cream, and berries and angel food cake to make a trifle. I love fruit and the angel food cake might be enough to make it a treat. Just an idea for summer.

    My wife and I usually have a parfait after dinner: a scoop of frozen(trust me, it's almost like ice cream) lite Cool Whip, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries - topped with a little whipped cream. About 150 cal by my reckoning an SOOOOOO good!

    1 package sugar free Jello instant pudding
    1 bowl Cool Whip Free
    2 cups almond milk

    Ridiculously low calorie pudding. Try using vanilla pudding mix and add a tablespoon of cinnamon.

    Blend frozen bananas/fruits.
    Blend almond/soy milk with dried dates, strain, then heat up with some honey.
    Banana with peanut butter.
    Durian/custard fruits.
    Yogurt parfait with green grapes and black plums, then sprinkle a bit of brown sugar/coconut sugar or cookie crumbs on top.
