A lot of the time when we crave frozen desserts and other cold items, we are really experiencing thirst. So by not drinking enough water, we may end up eating too much ice cream, etc.

Then there is just the effect of substituting water for all the beverages we drink that have calories. That is one of the easiest steps toward losing weight faster: to stop drinking calories!

This is especially important for people who are still trying to lose 2 pounds per week. Almost every diet - excuse me, lifestyle - book I've read suggests giving up all beverages with calories (whether it's from juice, milk or alcohol) when you are trying to jump-start weight-loss.

PS I wish we could use the word "diet" again. It doesn't necessarily mean something temporary! It just means "what you eat." A person can have a very healthy diet without having a healthy lifestyle. (This is a general comment, not directed at anyone.)
