Recovery drinks

Does anyone use chocolate milk as a recovery drink. I have been reading a lot about it and just thought I would see what your recovery drink was?

I started using it as a recovery drink after runs longer than 10k. I generally have zero appetite after the run but I find I can manage some chocolate milk and then a normal meal later. Not sure how much it benefits me but I like it and I feel better afterwards. And there is no way I'd have a protein shake or sports recovery drink afterwards so chocolate milk, plain milk or water seem to be my only options.

    Hey Jen! :)

I was doing a little reading on this myself. I came across this website:

Check it out. Seems like chocolate milk is ideal for weight lifting recovery. Not so sure about it. But, one things for sure: the key is low-fat chocolate milk. I always drink G2 Gatorade after a ride on my bike, but that's pretty much pure cardio. I'd consider chocolate milk if I was lifting.

Missing you! Hope all is well!

I only bother with a recovery drink after a long run (2+ hours) or after an intense run (track work, hill repeats, etc). But when I do, I do drink chocolate milk. It's cheaper and at least as effective as Ultragen or Endurox. I use low fat milk and chocolate syrup (non-HFCS).
