Two protein shakes a day?

Hi!

I am a protein powder newbie. What I do now is make a post workout smoothie which consists of 30g protein powder (which gives me 27 g of protein), a banana, 300 g of greek yoghurt, some peanut butter and berries.

The protein powder packaging says not to exceed one serving a day but I have been following people who do two shakes a day for about 60 g of protein total. I wouldn't mind having a second smoothie like that at all, for example before my workout (lifting + cardio at the gym) or if I do a second workout that day.

Any thoughts? Should I stick to one serving? I am averaging around 100-120 g per day as is, weighting 197 lbs.

Edit: Those 100 g of protein mean a good day. I "wouldn't mind" a second smoothie because it would make cooking less stressful. And I am a bit tired of fish/chicken for dinner.

As long as you are replacing a meal, I don't see anything wrong with it. Protein shakes have the highest bioavailable proteins, which means your body uses it rather quickly.

I don't always but often I'll have 2 shakes. I always double scoop mine. They rack up 56 grams of protein.

Try it, if you're ok doing twice a day then I don't see why not.

2 shakes a day will do you no harm, i have 2 double scoop shakes some days (38g per shake) and I've experienced no adverse effects!

If you're tired of chicken, try turkey, beef, pork, lamb or even quorn!
And for fish, theres loads of options! Tuna, Salmon, Mackrel, haddock, cod etc...variety makes any plan easier!
