Yoga

I would like to start a new yoga program. The slow stretch, hold a pose type of yoga (Jillian Micheals is not my cup of tea). Any recommendations?

Are you looking for videos? I got some DVDs on Amazon, the "Yoga for Beginners Boxed Set". It's 3 DVDs and so provides a lot of variety in workouts. I've really been enjoying them.

I'm also a newbie in yoga, and my suggestion is to go to an actual yoga studio (if you have time). I tried to do yoga using YouTube videos too, but the poses were hard to master. Now I'm improving little by little. I am also starting to practice some yoga at home, and I do use the YouTube videos of a gal called Adriene, she is amazing.

Yogazone was a fabulous series. DVDs can be found online though they are a little pricey.

Also, if you have the money, find a local yoga studios that has therapeutic classes. These are good for beginners or those that don't want to do the faster vinyasa flow.

Check out youtube for some good yoga instructional videos. All at your own pace and if you don't like a particular program, at least you didn't spend a lot on the DVDs! You might like a series by "doyouyoga" called the 30-day yoga challenge that is good for beginners and is a slower pace than the Jillian Michael's videos.
