Avoiding injury after c-section

Does anyone have any tips about fitness after c-section. Before and during pregnancy I lifted weights. I'm not afraid of hard work, but I AM afraid of overdoing it? Pretty much every exercise I do requires a strong core, but mine is shot for now. Do I just focus on the core, and cardio? Do I do light weights and slowly build up? Gah!

Can you ask your doctor or surgeon?
Be careful, even if the visible wound is healed, muscle etc. might not be. I'd definitely consult a doctor.0 -
I had a C-section nearly 4 years ago, I went back to lifting light weights about 12 weeks later. The only thing you can do is try it and see how you find it.0

I am definitely asking my doctor at my 6 week check up on Tuesday. Can you tell I am itching to go back? LOL. I figured it would be trial and error, but there is nothing WORSE than having to do PT because of over eagerness on my part. I will let y'all know how it goes.0
