Victorious Victoria Day Challenge. . .May 14

Morning!
Today I have a long teaching day (covering for someone else). So, that's a 30-40 minute commuter walk. I was very pleased yesterday to discover that that walk (with the backpack) burns 200 calories.
Then, "tilt tuck tigh(t)en. . .ya'll" Sorry, that's the hip hop abs guy in my head. He won't go away. I find myself sucking in my gut and scooping my pelvis under just walking around. I'm doing the "sculpting" dvd tonight. (I will probably have to force myself, as I am lazy after a day of teaching. I already have an elaborate "reward package" dinner in my head for post workout, involving popcorn, apples, laughing cow cheese and a tivo'ed episode of House, MD.)
Have a great day. We're on the home stretch! Time to think of new goals for the next challenge. Fourth of July? Randomly generated date? Canada Day?

YOU GO GIRL!!! Walk some for me! Do you have a pedometer to see your steps? Sounds like a great idea...I should start walking to work. Oh wait...I do! I work at home. WHEWH! Not as good as yours.
Anyway! Let us know how it goes! Hooray!0 -

 Ya know what I hear-"Are ya squeezin' those glutes?!" I did the Total Body Burn this morning & will be doing a bit of yard work today.
I love House-too bad there was one new episode & the next one is the season finale.
Fourth of July works for me. I'm trying to be at my goal when my family arrives from Florida on July 14.0 -
The 4th (or the 1st) works for me. Hopefully we'll see some new challengers.
I have to remind myself constantly to tuck the tailbone in yoga. I'm banana shaped, and while this gives me great upper body posture, my lower body is usually at rest.
Yesterday was 1 hr on the elliptical and a 30 minute walk with husband.
I'm taking the audio version of "In Defense of Food" with me to listen to on my trip. I figured it's a good time, when on vacation, to be reminded to eat whole foods - as difficult as that is traveling through the deep south.
Oh, and since I won't be around for the beginning of the July challenge - I will think of some things by tomorrow. I plan on continuing my exercise cycling (hard week/ easy week).0 -
Good Morning!
Should we aim for Bastille Day...July 14...to distinguish ourselves from the other 4th of July Challenge?
I'm on the hard week/ easy week exercise cycle as well. This is the hard week for me and I'm aiming for burning 750 calories a day.
Yesterday was a Buff Ballet workout at the gym that kicked my butt. I'm glad I did 30 min on the elliptical before class, because I would have beeen way too tired afterwards.
Today I'm wearing my HRM all day to see how many calories I typically burn in a day. I think I will take the day off from exercise, except for a 30 min walk.
Have a great Wednesday!0 -
Hi all, I know I don't always post, because I don't always get to exercise right now. Just wanted to see how you all were doing. It looks like you are doing good. Next tuesday I get evaluated bu another PT and then maybe sent back to the doc. Who knows, the only thing I know for sure is I'm getting tired of my back. Everything has tightened up and I just want to scream some days. :explode: Thanks for letting me rant. I am trying to get the walking in but I do so miss the dance videos I was doing. Well I'll let you know how it goes and hopefully I'll get to do more than I am now. :ohwell:  Karen0
