Hi, everybody! People have told me that they gained lots of weight without noticing and I've always thought how do you do that?? That's impossible you'd notice you're body gaining weight. I didn't realize that was true until I was at a reasonable weight of 130-135 (I'm 5'5) so even that wasn't my ideal weight but I decided to stop weighing myself and worrying about how much I weighed as long as I looked good in the mirror. That was fine until recently I noticed I've gained some weight. So I started eating more healthy and trying to workout everyday. However, I knew I had to step on the scale again so I could see my progress and if what I was doing was working but I just couldn't. Finally, this morning I did it. I was so shocked I weighed 147 pounds. I gained about 20 pounds!!!! HOW!!?? I don't even know where to start now. I feel so hopeless that I let myself go so much. Now I'm gonna start working out EVERY day no excuses that "I'm not that bad" because things have gotten out of hand. 20 pounds is too much. My goal weight is 125. If any of y'all have any tips or any advice, comments please tell me! I need all the support and advice I can get.

Weigh everything you eat or drink and log it accurately.
Eat and drink in a deficit and you will lose.0 -
My advice would be to not get obsessive about it. You loose perspective and end up missing out on things. 20lbs is only 1 stone 6lbs. If you eat healthily in general and exercise a few times a week and add in more walking, you will loose it. That's also a sustainable lifestyle, rather than a diet. Then you won't wonder off into yoyo weight land
I say this as someone who started out doing this and then did the exact opposite of my own advice. Yoyo land has a large wardrobe with various sizes!0 -
I can relate! I gained 30 lbs and I was shocked because i was like you, 5'5 and 130. I was content and healthy. I didn't have to think too much about what I ate. I could never understand how someone could gain so much weight and not realize it. It happens though. It happened to me too. Now I'm working hard on losing it ! Lets support each other and get rid of this excess weight. 125 is my goal as well.0
