Do you dress your dog?
Do you? And if you do, why? For fun? For a skin condition? Because you live in Alaska and it's freezing? Inquiring minds want to know.
**Note: I have never dressed my dog except for Halloween when she went as Buzz Lightyear. She replied by rolling her costume in dead animal carcass.
**Note 2: I have dressed my hedgehog... for no reason other than my own amusement.

Yes. I love making all kinds of costumes out of duct tape.0

Primarily, I do it for the laughs. My dog puts up with it, so.. last year he was an airplane, the year before he was batpug.
I also give him a sweater in the winter, because he gets cold and it's kind of pathetic sans sweater.

Doesn't mean I can't make money off of them! They might as well look fabulous!!!0 -
Of course. The dressing is sometimes the best part of the meal.0

No... but occasionally I put hats on my cats and put tape on their feet. It's like a silent feline tap dancing show...0

Bahahaha... did you just indirectly say your clients have mental issues?0 -
My dog has a raincoat for walks in wet weather. She doesn't really care if she gets wet and muddy, but as she is allowed on the furniture, I'd prefer to keep her dryer and cleaner.
Also has a Thundershirt because she really hates t-storms.
That's it though.0 -
I put one of mine in a reindeer outfit once complete with a blinking nose, she looked at me like I was all kinds of special. She had a point.
My other one is a short haired rescue from Mexico. She doesn't do well in the Canadian winters, so she gets boots and a jacket for the cold winter walks.0 -

This....unless it for medical reasons!0 -
Well given that we bred some dogs to be these weak parodies of their ancestors, it's only suitable that we dress them.
I never did it and never will but I can see how some dogs would require it, and the question should rather be why the owner decided to get a dog with short fur or cut it if it's freezing where they live.0 -
Is this a Euphemism?0

I put reindeer antlers on my dog at Christmas, but that's about it0

Put an old t-shirt on her ones. She had a rash and I put cream on it. The shirt was to keep her from the cream and to keep her from scratching.
If the dog doesn't mind I don't see the harm. Some dogs like the attention.0 -

I dress my dog, mostly in the winter - she is 3lbs and we live in Michigan (the snow is usually deeper than she is tall) - it gets pretty cold so I put coats on her. My husband hates it but it's better that she is warm enough to go outside rather than messing in my house!0

I have a theory that people who dress their dogs are control freaks.0

only for special occasions last Halloween she was a devil and the year before she was a witch an at Christmas she has a Yappy Christmas bandanna! she doesnt mind it an she looks so cute0

My dog actually likes getting "dressed." A new collar or bandanna and she holds her head high and prances around. Yet I almost never put anything on her. Maybe I'm mean.

My dog has a bunny suit for Halloween that she wears for about five minutes.
She does have a winter coat she she does wear out of necessity. She loves to plow thru the snow and it just clings to her curly hair.
She would come into the house cold and wet and melt all over the place.0 -

Ok, maybe hedgehogs. But not dogs, definitely not cats.0
