question about calories burned

one thing I have always wondered about, does this mfp or this site http://www.healthstatus.com/cgi-bin/calc/calculator.cgi take into account the number of calories you would have burned if you hadn't been exercising??? I have been subtracting that amount from my calories burned in order to get a more accurate amount. you burn about 75 calories an hour just sitting then it says that I burn 120 an hour knitting so I record 45 calories, or should I be recording the whole 120?? that's just an example, I don't usually record my everyday activities (unless I am curious how much I burned if I spent all day doing something)
I hope I am asking this correctly.

just record the actual number and then put your activities in the exercise thing and it does it all for you0

Some people back out their existence calories and only record the "overage" or the extra they burned from the activity. I personally don't do that math but I also don't eat all my exercise calories.0
