Anyone Focus on Traditional Foods?

I LOOOOVE to cook traditional foods from other countries, particularly Korean and Japanese dishes. Many of their native dishes include a focus on healthy broths, vegetables, and quality proteins. I got to thinking about those cultures and their health and zeroed in on their preoccupation with delicious, balanced ingredients. I was wondering, do any of you focus on traditional foods? I hate to use the term "real" food, but in essence, do you focus your weight loss efforts in the consumption of time-honored meals vs. health-fads and diets? I ask not really for success stories, but more for your experience. What do you like to cook? Have you tried challenging meals and been pleased with the outcomes? Anyone cook their own broth? I'm very interested in traditional cooking for both health and aesthetics. I'd love to hear about your cooking experiences and to hear the sorts of dishes you love to prepare for yourself and your families. How do you fit traditional cooking in with a busy work schedule?
Thanks in advance! Happy cooking.
