A friend and I are taking a 12 hour road trip from sea level to the mountains, the day before my friends half marathon, (due to schedules we must leave day before race) looking for ideas to pack a cooler so we have healthy meals along the way to fuel her for the race. We will be packing plenty of water and know that being in a car a heating source will be difficult. Thank you!!

Well if you have a nice cooler you can take anything that you would want to eat. As for warming It stop at a truck stop or big gas station along the interstate and you can use there microwave for free without buying anything. I sometimes stop and fill up my big jug with ice water and as long as you tell the cashier I have never paid for either. Also i drive a truck and after 14 hours most food even without a cooler is still good as long as it's in a zip lock or container. Not sure what kind of food is good before running though I can't help you there0
